Spain’s 8th largest city, just 400km from Africa, is one of Europe’s best hubs for Remote Workers all year round (but especially in winter) Living in Las Palmas wasn’t actually the original plan. I was planning to be here for 4 weeks before heading to Thailand but like many of the millions of visitors to the island each year, I found a real sense of home and stayed for almost 3 years (With some travel in between). So here’s a quick rundown of everything you can expect from this paraiso. The good, the bad, the ugly & everything in between. The Good Small city, big community Despite around 400K people living in the city, you’ll never feel like you’re trapped in a huge, confusing metropolis. After spending a few days here to get your bearings you’ll quickly notice that you’re never more than 15 minutes away from pretty much everything you’d need which means for the many different events, you’re always close by. And on that note, whether you’re into sports, painting, yoga or perhaps you like drinking coffee & having deep meaningful conversations? There really is something for everyone here and it’s made all the better by often being centererd around one of the best urban beaches in Europe. When I first came here, I had no idea who to hang out with, how to make friends or what language to speak but within a few days I had made some friends & been out a handful of times without searching to hard. It’s made a lot easier by the genius idea of a slack community for all to use (it’s free, too) Created by Nellele
